Website integration
Connecting your payment provider and installing referral capture are different steps. The connection lets LiftVector read payment evidence. Your website must also carry the referral into checkout.
If you have not connected your provider and created a campaign, start with the quickstart.
Choose your checkout method
Section titled “Choose your checkout method”In your merchant workspace, open Settings → Website integration. Select the method that matches the checkout your customers actually use. Available methods come from your connected provider; the Stripe methods below are not instructions for other providers.
For browser capture, copy the Installation snippet from your workspace, not another merchant or an example site. Install it once on referral landing pages and pages that hand referrals to checkout. For a checkout handled by your backend, the hosted script plus data-liftvector="true" on your existing anchor or form completes the browser-side handoff without additional browser code. Your backend still needs to pass the referral to Stripe.
The hosted script address is https://static.liftvector.app/script/liftvector.js. Keep the
data-merchant, data-provider, and data-method values from your workspace snippet; the shared
script URL does not identify your merchant or checkout method. Keep defer and load the script once.
| Stripe method | Choose this when | How the referral reaches checkout |
|---|---|---|
| Payment Links | Your site links to Stripe Payment Links on https://buy.stripe.com. |
LiftVector adds client_reference_id to recognized links. |
| Buy Button | Your page contains Stripe’s stripe-buy-button element. |
LiftVector supplies the element’s client-reference-id. |
| Pricing Table | Your page contains Stripe’s stripe-pricing-table element. |
LiftVector supplies the element’s client-reference-id. |
| Server-Side Checkout | Your backend creates Stripe Checkout Sessions. | Mark your anchor or form with data-liftvector="true" to send via; your backend sets the Session’s client_reference_id. |
Choosing a tab saves the method and clears any previous setup confirmation. Reading or copying the instructions does not confirm installation.
Confirm, then verify separately
Section titled “Confirm, then verify separately”After completing the matching instructions, choose I have completed these instructions. This records Merchant-confirmed, not a verified installation or working checkout. Return setup to incomplete clears that confirmation if you need to redo setup. Skipping this step during onboarding only finishes onboarding; it does not install anything.
Prove the integration with an actual referred purchase in the environment connected to the merchant. For a sandbox-connected merchant, complete a sandbox purchase, inspect the resulting Session’s reference, and check the sale, affiliate attribution, and expected commission in LiftVector. A redirect or a completed but unpaid Session is not proof of collected funds.
See attribution rules for how a candidate becomes an association, and troubleshooting for the evidence to check when a purchase is missing or unattributed.
